Budget Link Building Strategies

Hiring a search engine optimization company to handle your link building strategies is becoming an increasingly common approach for many organisations utilising SEO. Link building strategies take time and effort – not to mention monitoring, so if you are going to oversee link building in-house, you need to be well-equipped.
When you first consider your link building and search engine optimisation needs, your initial thoughts will be that you need to be appearing in the top five or ten rankings on the most popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing. Of course, this is a desire which most of us have, however if you have this as your main goal when employing a search engine optimization company, you could be in for a surprise.
Some companies, not all, will charge you a lot of money to get you within the top five or ten rankings on Google. Of course such an outstanding result comes at a cost, but be wary as even Google itself will tell you there are no guarantees in terms of page ranking. Of course, an effective search engine optimisation company will increase your search rankings significantly and this is definitely worth paying for. However, in a time when budgets are still a little tight, it is worth considering a few time-saving alternatives to improving your link building strategies which do not just rely on Google. Time saved is money saved, so surely it is worth a go.
Get yourself in online directories.  Some directories get a bit of a bad reputation and are not considered the most effective place to get your business noticed, but they should not be underestimated. If you can get your business in any free listings, what have you got to lose? You never know what other web pages are linked to. Specific directories allow you to enter several category headings, so you are in effect getting some keywords relating to your website by exploring this avenue.
Work with other web pages. If you have a news feed or a blog section, it is a good idea to connect it other web pages. Most websites will allow you to either comment on their blogs or write your own small piece of content with a link back to your own page. This is really effective as it portrays an element of trust between sites, making it more appealing to readers.
Ask for product or customer feedback. If you go to practically any website you will see an option to log in or comment, post a review or even just vote on how useful or interesting the information is. Reading some of these comments can be very entertaining from a consumer point of view, but from your website optimization point of view, you are actually getting free feedback on your content. Not only that, but customer opinions can often strike up controversy and conversation amongst other users, giving you a deeper insight in your brand perceptions and website offerings.
